The next day we went out to breakfast to eat these pancakes.
They are soooooo good! Mac nut pancakes with haupia sauce. Delish. After our gluttony we drove to the North Shore to show them the beach house. That night we ate some awesome Korean food and went to bed early. Wednesday was check in to the house and airport day. Rebeca's 3 sisters, two nieces and one significant other arrived at 4pm. It was so awesome seeing them! I love her sisters a ton and we always have a great time! Her oldest brother was supposed to arrive at 9pm that night but due to someone flushing a diaper down the airplane toilet (who does that?!) they didn't get in until 1am. Poor things! We picked them up (bro, SIL, niece and nephew) and got back to the beach house at almost 2am. Rebeca also got a ticket on the way back.
Her younger brother arrived with his wife and son Tuesday night but they stayed at a friend's house until Thursday. Her youngest brother and his boyfriend were supposed to arrive Wed. night but didn't get to Oahu until Friday morning.
We spent the first couple days beaching and eating. We did the North Shore shrimp trucks, Waimea Bay, Hanauma Bay, Laniakea (turtle beach) and Chun's Reef the beach right across the street from the house. Fantastic.
Isa had a grand time with her cousins! It was so fun for the siblings to be all together. They all live in Colorado except one who lives in Oregon. The last time everyone was together was maybe 2 years ago. You could tell her parents were really happy too. :)
The night before everyone left (Monday) we went to a luau. I'd never been to one before! It was a great show and at one point they did the cliche get people on stage to dance thing. Isa pretty much RAN up on stage. She is NOT afraid and was hula-ing to her own song. lol She was so in front of everyone else I thought she'd fall off the stage.
All in all we had a wonderful week. Saying goodbye Tuesday night was super hard and Rebeca and I are already looking at tickets to go to Colorado for Christmas. :)
Yay for familia! It was the first vacation everyone had been on together since they were kids. We're thinking Mexico in '12!
P.S. The group shot is from Maya's belated birthday brunch. Amazing we all fit. lol Can you tell which are my peeps? heheh
